Restaurant owner is forced to eat cockroach found in customer's food

The restaurant owner
A customer who ordered fried noodles from a restaurant in Changsha, Hunan province, China on July 25th, forced the restaurant's owner to eat a cockroach he said he found in his food.
After the customer found the supposed cockroach, he told the restaurant owner to either eat the cockroach or pay him 5,000 yuan (£569).
The owner ate the cockroach instead. But the customer wasn't a man of his word, as he kept demanding money from the owner, adding that he needed to be compensated financially for the bad experience he had, but the owner refused to give in to the customer's demands.

Indian man who 'died' from snake bite wakes up seconds before cremation and dies again (Graphic photos)

A 23 year old Indian man simply identified as Sandeep, who was presumed dead after being bitten by a snake rose up from the dead at his own funeral, just as his body was about to be cremated.
Sandeep, was bitten by a snake while collecting wood from the forest far from his village. When he got back to his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family that he had been bitten by a snake.

According to Abia Facts Newspaper, the fatal accident occurred five hours ago hours ago at Udi LGA of Enugu State. The vehicle belonging to Royal Mass Transit somersaulted several times. All the occupants died except the baby pictured held by a passerby. More photos after the cut.

National Convention still holds on August 17th- PDP insist

Police rescue another chained child in Ogun state


Barely a week after members of the Ogun state police command rescued 9 year old Korede Taiwo from the Celestial Church where he was chained by his father over his stealing habit, the state police command have rescued a 10 year old girl named Promise Udeh who was chained by her aunt, Chaimaka Okafor at their Adigbe residence in Abeokuta, the state capital. Chiamaka allegedly chained Promise because she stole her N4,000. The police is in search of Chiamaka as she has since fled her home.

The Director, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, USA, Roselyn Wiase, who led the six man delegation urged the Commission to continue in its vigorous fight against Corruption.

Nigerian man allegedly hacked into bank's electronic mail in Ghana and stole money

A Nigerian man identified as Godwin Onwuneme Udu was arrested at Haatso, Ghana on July 19, for allegedly hacking into a bank’s electronic mail and stealing  GH¢25,000.
The deputy director in-charge of the Unit, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eugene Nyavor, said the management of the bank (name withheld) arrested and handed over Godwin to the police.

18 year old man convicted for stabbing Nigerian man to death in the UK

 

18 year old Kaleb Amponsah (left), has been found guilty of the stabbing to death, 27 year old Ade Afariogun (right) which took place on January 29th this year. On the day of the incident, Ade was in Plaistow Park with three female friends when they noticed Amponsah ride his bike past them on several occasions and staring aggressively at them.

Court grants Ali Modu Sheriff's request, stops PDP convention .

Justice Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja has stopped the planned National Convention of PDP slated for August 17th in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Delivering judgement in a suit filed by Ali Modu Sheriff, Justice Abang ruled that the May 21st convention of the party that sacked Sheriff from office was illegal and that the caretaker committee raised by the party during that convention was unlawfully constituted.

So a few hours ago, LIB reported that people involved in raising money for cancer patient, Mayowa Ahmed, reached out to us to say that they discovered that the whole fundraising for the sick lady was a scam. I've been in touch with quite a few people, and they insist the family knew Mayowa was beyond help but still went ahead to raise money for her. Mayowa's family have released a statement insisting it's no scam and that they are truly taking her abroad for medical treatment. (Now, it's supposedly tomorrow).

70% of the N500bn June allocation was generated from non-oil sector – FIRS boss Tunde Fowler says

Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Tunde Fowler, has disclosed that 70% of the N500 billion generated in the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee, FAAC, in June, was generated from non-oil sectors, while only 30% came from the oil sector. Fowler said this at a meeting with the Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday July 25th;

Village heads suspended for diverting IDPs food in Yobe

Two Village Heads and one Sarkin Fulani have been suspended by the Emirate council in Yobe state over the diversion of food meant for Internally displaced people in Buni-Yadi in the state. Their suspension letter was sent to them on July 22nd after the emirate council had done their investigation and found them guilty.

Breaking News: Explosion outside migration office in Germany reported

An explosion is reported to have occurred outside a government office for migration and refugees in Nuremberg, Germany, according to Munich-based broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk Bayerischer. Rundfunk is reporting that a suitcase filled with aerosol cans was thought to be the source of the blast outside the Bundesamtes für Migration in Zirndorf, Bavaria, on Wednesday afternoon.

It is unknown whether there were any casualties from the explosion. Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud bang and that a burning suitcase was found in a garden.

US-based Chierika Ukogu will be making history at the 2016 Olympics Games, being the first rower to represent Nigeria. Born on October 1992, Okogu, who is a graduate of Stanford University, said in a recent interview that the sport had been challenging but she will put in her best, adding that her training with members of the U.S. team at the Vesper Boathouse at Schuylkill, Philadelphia had helped develop her skills.
